PERSUASIVE SPEECH: LIFESTYLE TO MAKE SOME CHANGES Do you know that using cars for the earth is like smoking cigarettes for people? But let me get back to that later†¦ We live in a world which gets polluted every second. If you do not know what is pollution – it is a really bad thing and this bad thing is caused by us! Have you ever thought that pollution is like cancer for the mother earth? I am here to talk to you about better way of lifestyle that changes the whole future of our planet regarding pollution and global warming. â€Å"CO2 gas emissions† is a mystical term which everyone should pay attention to. C02 gas is a colorless, odorless gas that is present in the atmosphere and is formed when any fuel containing carbon is burned. Plants and trees are using it in the process of photosynthesis. Carbon dioxide is also used in refrigeration, fire extinguishers, and carbonated drinks. In other words this is the gas we need to fight with! By using fossil fuels in almost everything we do, we make a huge cloud of gas and this is warming up the world. By doing this, we cause serious damage to the nature and we may have an irreversible effect on it and the future. As you now understand that we need to fight with it, I am going to tell you some ways to do it. First of all, reduce the time you are in the car and use your legs to move . Use Bikes! People are getting lazier as time goes, but you can make the change. If you walk more, you help your planet and you help yourself, so why not to do it? Take care about your garden. Those are the filters of our caused high levels of gas. Mother nature knows how to cure the world, so let’s help a little bit. Did you know that every 2 seconds a football field of forest is gone in the world? It takes minutes to destroy it, but centuries to get it back. Make your small garden, plant a tree, help your grandmother at the garden, clean forests †¦ Energy saving. That is the key to save this planet. The most of CO2 is produced using fossil fuels everywhere. Cars, factories, agriculture, etc. But we have some ways to fight with it. Don’t use old cars which leaves a cloud after starting up. Use new , economic and small engines to reduce the emissions. Or even better, use a BIKE. Use electricity from renewable sources like wind , waves, rivers, solar energy etc. We have to forget about burning fossil fuels. Do you know what is earth hour? That is a day when everyone is supposed to switch of electricity for one hour. One hour makes difference , so why not to make 10 hours of electricity saving. The process of making electricity causes a lot of C02 gas to be released in the air. Do you recycle? That is a way to save the world. By recycling you give a possibility to use that material again , so it doesn’t have to be made so the company doesn’t have to burn fossil fuels to work machines. Simple as that. DO you do these things? Well, I am trying to save the world, but I cannot do it by myself. SO the main thing I can do is to spread my thought and force other to spread the word. But to be practical- I walk to school every day, I recycle , I try to save energy mostly because of the cost but it makes bigger difference at the end and I take care of the forests. I ask you to do the same or even more and together we can make a difference. The world is now addicted to CO2 smoke and let’s bring it to rehabilitation until the cancer kills us all. Maybe it is too late, but you have to promise me your children are going to do this.

Influence of Culture on Values and Expectations in Ones Life Essay

Influence of Culture on Values and Expectations in Ones Life - Essay Example Our expectations from life generally revolve around our careers and our relationships. Career choice has been rapidly influenced by the corporate culture that inadvertently inspires each graduate of a business school. Likewise, Boston Legal, a popular TV series related to legal practice has set the expectations of law students to a different level. Â  The media may generally depict people in stereotypical ways such that consumers are encouraged to adopt expectations about the roles that those people occupy. Following the example of female attorneys, if the media depicted few females in the role of attorney, then consumers of the media might come to think of males as much more likely to be attorneys. (Sparks, 200) Â  The field of journalism as portrayed by the various news channels is now associated with thrill and adventure that drives many students to choose it as their career. Similarly, more and more young people are lured towards entertainment industry in a dream to become a superstar. Â  Fresh graduates wish to climb the ladder of success quickly in an effort to reach the executive level positions in any organization. Thus a major shift in their priorities has occurred and their goal is no more to achieve professional excellence. The expectations of people from their careers are not limited to high salaries alone but have extended beyond to meet other expectations in life; the images of business tycoons flying across the world in their private jets; or owning private mansions in Europe; etc. have become a common dream for many people.
